The Seeds of the Word Community is a contemplative and missionary Community, with the charism of announcing the Good News of Salvation to the world.
The Seeds of the Word Community was founded in Brazil by Deacon Georges Bonneval and his wife Marie-Josette, in response to the call of the Most Reverend Alberto Taveira Correa. Contemplative and missionary, the Community's vocation is to make the Word of God accessible to all while nurturing the dignity of all sons and daughters of God. The community is currently present in eight countries, with several houses and missions.
To be Seeds of the Word is to participate in the mission of the Church wherever it finds itself, announcing what it contemplates and faithfully transmitting what it has received from the Lord. Our community life is centered on contemplation and mission.

Our Founders
Deacon Georges and Marie-Josette Bonneval have been married over 50 years. It was through their YES given to God that the Holy Spirit had free access to form the charism in their hearts and thus be fruitful parents of a large spiritual family called the Seeds of the Word Community. Deacon Georges exercises his Diaconal Ministry within the Community and, together with Marie, proclaims the Word in the discrete authority of the Holy Spirit.
After the discovery and healing of a cancer at the age of 23, Deacon Georges was led to an encounter with the Living Christ and His Church through the passionate discovery of Paul's writings. Since then, he, together with Marie-Josette, have consecrated their entire lives to the New Evangelization.
Guaranteeing Bishop
Bishop Alberto Taveira Corrêa has been the Guaranteeing Bishop for the Seeds of the Word Community since the call to found the Community in 2004, when he was the Archbishop of Palmas. Currently, Bishop Alberto Taveira is Archbishop of Belém in Brazil and continues to preach the Community’s annual retreats. He also celebrates the Commitments of the Life Members of the Seeds of the Word Community. Also called “Protecting Bishop”, he is received and recognized as such by the Founder and General Moderator of the Community.
He is the privileged witness of the history and charism of the Community. He exercises his authority and pastoral vigilance over the whole community and over each of its members.
“By the grace of the Holy Spirit, the vocation of the Community is centered on Christ, Word of God, Word made flesh, for the life and salvation of the world. Thus, the Seeds of the Word Community recognizes itself in a Biblical and Ecclesial identity.”
